Craig W. Spellman, DO, PhD, received his master's degree in microbiology/immunology from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, and his doctorate in pathology/immunology from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He earned his osteopathic degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth Texas. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque and a residency at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas.
Dr. Spellman is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine Division of Endocrinology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, Texas.
Dr. Spellman is the author of many publications and a reviewer for several medical journals. He is Chairman of the Health Professionals Committee of the Texas Diabetes Council and a founding member of the National Minority Health Institute. Dr. Spellman is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He lectures nationally about insulin therapy.
