Target
Audience: Case managers involved in the treatment of children
with growth hormone deficiency.
Goal:
To provide an overview of the treatment of growth hormone deficiency
in children.
Objectives:
- Discuss
the structure, regulation and physiologic actions of growth
hormone (GH).
- List
causes of GH deficiency in children.
- Discuss
methods of assessing growth in the evaluation of suspected
GH deficiency in children.
- Describe
the diagnosis of GH deficiency in children.
- Discuss
GH treatment and list potential safety concerns and adverse
reactions.
CE
Credit for successful completion of this independent study
offering will be provided to certified case managers.
