Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and registered dietitians.

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
To educate healthcare professionals on research-based nutrition practices and supplement use for cardiovascular health and use this knowledge to help consumers make informed decisions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this actiivty, the participant will be able to:

  • List 3 controllable risk factors for preventing or treating heart disease.
  • List 2 nutritional supplements used to help protect the heart and stave off heart disease.
  • Identify 2 main types of drug therapy used to treat heart disease and list 2 nutrients that are commonly depleted.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
This activity provides 2 hours (0.20 CEUs) and is accredited by the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy, Department of Continuing Education. ACPE Universal Program Number: 014-999-07-179-H01-P/014-999-07-179-H01-T.
