Target Audience
Physicians involved in the care of patients with cancer.

Statement of Need
Physicians who care for patients with cancer need the most current information on cancer care. It is important that information from national oncology meetings be disseminated to physicians. This activity will discuss highlights from the 2006 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) annual meetings.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to improve their patient care by being able to:

  • Explore new updates to ASCO supportive care guidelines.
  • Evaluate the use of targeted agents in renal cell carcinoma as upfront therapy.
  • Discuss new agents for treatment of trastuzumab failures.
  • Propose better induction therapy for head and neck cancer patients.
  • Examine a new biologic agent for colon cancer.
