Statement of Need
The current pharmacy market is characterized by higher volume, more complicated therapies and a great need for patient counseling and this shows no signs of stopping. As the Medicare population continues to grow with their multiple medications and higher need for counseling the pharmacy’s most rapidly diminishing resource could well be the actual time you have to take care of your patients and your business.

Given the 80/20 rule that 20% of your patients require 80% of your time and account for 80% of your business, one answer to the growing pressure on your pharmacy’s time and resources lies in controlling pharmacy workflow by improving your adherence management. This session will provide a template and tools for modifying your practice, consolidating refills for patients with multiple medications and managing your workflow to give you more time to counsel your patients and manage your business.

Successful pharmacy peers who have modified their practice to capitalize on this system will share their challenges, steps and successes, plus simple tools that you can use right away to make a difference for you and your patients.

  1. List three adherence practice modifications that can alter workflow.
