William
J. Burke, DO, FACOFP
William J. Burke, DO, FACOFP serves as the Program Director of the Family
Medicine Residency program at Doctors Hospital-OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio,
and is an associate professor of family medicine at the Ohio University College
of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his BA in history from Capital University
and his doctorate in osteopathic medicine in 1988 from Ohio University. Dr.
Burke completed his internship and residency in family practice at Doctors
Hospital in Columbus. He is board-certified in osteopathic family medicine
and OMM. Prior to joining the residency program faculty in 1994, Dr. Burke
practiced as a solo osteopathic family medicine physician in rural central
Ohio. He has received the Outstanding Faculty Award from OUCOM's Central Region
in 1992, 1997 and again in 2006. He is also the recipient of the Columbus
Osteopathic Association's James F. Sosnowski, DO Distinguished Service Award
in 2003. In 2006, Dr. Burke received the OUCOM Distinguished Service Award.
He currently serves as the president of the Ohio State Society of the American
College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and as a member of the American Osteopathic
Association's Council on Continuing Medical Education.
