PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Medication Therapy Management
Services (MTMS) are emerging in the field of pharmacy as an
important part of patient care in conjunction with the dispensing
of medications. Outcomes Pharmaceutical Health Care has been
an administrator of these services since 1999. This
continuing education program offers pharmacists and pharmacy
support staff a new look at medication therapy management services.
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES
At
the conclusion of this educational activity, the participant
should be better able to:
- Understand
how medication therapy management services relate to community
pharmacy practice.
- Realize
the direct impact pharmacists have on the cost and effectiveness
of pharmaceuticals in today's health care system.
- Identify,
resolve, document and bill medication therapy management services
delivered by pharmacists on behalf of patients.
- Estimate
the costs avoided as a result of the delivery of medication
therapy management services.

AUDIENCE
Pharmacists,
Pharmacy Technicians, and Support Staff
CE
CREDIT
This
program is co-sponsored by the National Community Pharmacists
Association and The Florida Pharmacy Association. NCPA and the
Florida Pharmacy Association are approved by the Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education as providers of continuing pharmacy
education. This program will provide 2.0 contact hours (0.2
CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit under the ACPE
Universal Program number 207-165-04-080-H04.
A
score of 70 percent is required to successfully complete the
CE quiz. You will have two opportunities to achieve a passing
score. Continuing education credits earned by Florida registered
pharmacists who complete this program will be reported to CE
Broker.
The
Statement of Credit should be printed upon receipt; a duplicate
copy will be available in the participant's online transcript
for further viewing. Individuals must complete this program
by October 1, 2007 to receive credit.
